An internship at Miller Sellner is designed to provide students with an on-the-job-training experience with seasoned mentors that will grow their skill set and serve to help them make informed career choices as well as enhance their formal education.

Our Fairmont and Slayton dealerships can accommodate one internship at each location, and our Bingham Lake and Sleepy Eye dealerships can accommodate up to two internships at each locations. All our internships are paid positions.

Precision Farming Specialist Slayton

PRECISION FARMING SPECIALIST - Slayton Location

  • Working with little or no supervision, the Precision Farming Specialist will apply geospatial technologies to agricultural production that include Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and will also work with the AFS Support Center, other AFS team members, whole goods sales, service shop, and customers directly.
 
  • ​​​​​​Activities will include installation, training, troubleshooting, and supporting all aspects of technology consisting of guidance systems, mapping, autopilot, monitors, and service tools.

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warranty Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage warranty claims processes, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of customer requests. Your enthusiasm for delivering exceptional service will help strengthen our reputation for quality and reliability. The Warranty Administrator will serve as a key point of contact between customers, service technicians, and suppliers, facilitating smooth communication and efficient claim processing. Driver’s license with insurability is required in order to travel between store locations.
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Minimum two years of relevant knowledge or experience, preferably in a dealership service or warranty department
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record; willing to travel as needed, up to weekly, to other company locations
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Proficient with Internet-based programs and basic computer applications (Word and Excel), with the ability to quickly learn dealer systems and manufacturer portals
  • Strong attention to detail with the persistence in maximizing warranty claim outcomes
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, troubleshooting concepts, and agricultural equipment operations with the willingness to learn and apply technical knowledge

Responsibilities
 
Warranty Operations
  • Coordinate warranty work across all locations, including travel as needed
  • Verify warranty coverage, eligibility, and claim timelines
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of claims and documentation
  • Track parts orders, backorders, and returns related to warranty processes
  • Monitor factory recalls, PIPs, and regulatory requirements and updates
  • Support continuous improvement of warranty-related processes and procedures to optimize performance and profitability
 
Claims Management
  • Prepare and submit warranty claims accurately and promptly in accordance with manufacturer processes.
  • Follow up on denied or returned claims; investigate and resubmit as appropriate.
  • Maintain a follow-up calendar to ensure timely processing and payment.
  • Provide clear communication to Service Managers and stakeholders regarding claim status and outcomes.
 
Internal Coordination and Communication
  • Work closely with Service, Parts, Sales, and other departments to gather required documentation and coordinate repairs and parts
  • Communicate warranty coverage on repairs to customers and provide them with timely claim updates
  • Provide end results of warranty claims to direct reports and stakeholders to determine and provide customers with final resolution
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer’s claim policy, procedures, and processing modifications through communications with department managers
  • Notify Sales department of upcoming warranty expirations to support extended warranty opportunities
  • Share best practices, challenges, and updates across all locations
 
Parts and Returns
  • Resolve vendor shortages, defective or incorrect parts, and freight claims
  • Provide required documentation, photos, and failed parts in compliance with manufacturer requirements
  • Apply for, process, and track core returns
 
Customer Service
  • Greet and assist customers and respond promptly in a professional and positive manner to questions, concerns, or complaints
  • Support and coach employees on customer service expectations related to warranty work

Responsibilities
As a Parts Counter Associate, you will be essential in managing inventory and providing outstanding customer service both in person and on the phone. Your core skills in inventory management, cash handling, POS systems, and communication will enable you to assist customers effectively while ensuring accurate sales transactions. With a focus on ag equipment knowledge, you will also utilize your premium skills in equipment maintenance and diagnostics to enhance customer interactions and support our customers' needs. Additionally, your relevant skills in stocking, order fulfillment, and effective communication will contribute to a seamless experience for our customers.
YOU MUST HAVE RELEVANT PAST EXPERIENCE in retail sales as well as advanced computer and organizational skills in order to contribute to our streamlined operation and to make you a vital part of our team dedicated to excellence in service.
